Dr hab. inż. Marta Szachniuk received award “Scientific Award of PAS Division IV”.
Award was granted for series of papers presenting original informatics methods of recognition and modeling RNA structures.
Mr Jakub Marszałkowski with his orginising team of Game Industry Conference received The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage award in category of digital culture.
In this year’s Conference of High Power Computer Users in PSNC, Dr. Tadeusz Kobys was the winner of the “Najciekawsza praca dyplomowa i doktorska z wykorzystaniem PCSS” (“Most interesting thesis and PhD thesis using PSNC”) for his PhD thesis “Transaction Replication: Algorithm and Properties”. Prof. Roman Słowiński awarded for outstanding contribution entitled “Robust ordinal regresion for decision under risk and uncertainty” published in the Jurnal of Business Economics in 2016.

The European Journal of Operational Research, where the co-ordinating editor is professor Roman Słowiński celebrates the 40th anniversary this year. For this occasion, it selected the 40 most influential papers from over 16 thousand published in EJOR during the last 40 years. On the 22nd of December 2016 a grant agreement was signed for the creation of Genetic Map of Poland, which will be built under the project “ECBiG – European Centre for Bioinformatics and Genomics” that is included on the Polish Roadmap for Research Infrastructures. Project consortium consists of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Poznan University of Technology (Institute of Computing Science) and Poznan company Centrum Badań DNA sp. z o.o. The project manager within the work packages assigned to Poznan University of Technology is the director of the Institute of Computer Science Prof. Jacek Błażewicz.
Faculty of Computing together with BAE System is organizing the next edition of cyber-security competition “Capture the Flag”, which will be held on April, 25th.
